my first.....1) home-cooked meal all by myself. well technically by myself after my host mum help me clean the chicken & cut the potatoes.
curry chicken (before the milk was added so it looked really spicy)
haha it was pretty easy actually... since my mum emailed me the recipe to me =)
Recipee:
1. Warm up the pan or wok
2. Put in HALF packet of the paste, less if they cannot take it so hot. (this is already half the strength)
3. Fry over low fire until wangi
4. Add chicken pieces already cut
5. Stir fry chicken until water come out of chicken
6. Add water (thanks jun for measuring the cups of water needed)
7. Add potato to simmer at low to medium fire until cook roughly more 30 minutes. You need to check if potato is cooked or not by poking with a fork or somethng sharp. If it goes in easily it is cooked, else simmer lagi
8. Add salt to taste.
9. Add sugar & water to reduce the spiciness
10. Lastly add satan or fresh milk about 4 table spoon, let boil for a while
11. Serve
my host mum liked it alot before i added the milk. she apparently "daisuki" spicy food. u would realized that i used half the packet instead of full. my host dad said that this was pretty okay. Tom yam was even worse. *points at the head = sweats* host sister is like me when i eat spicy food. Gets running nose while eating curry. But she turned really red... =p not sure how host brother reacted coz he ate it for supper. BUt i was glad that everyone enjoyed it. not too sure how was the standard of the curry as it was their first time eating msian curry & its been several weeks since i had msian food too. =)
my first... 2) time appearing on television =)
the only picture i took of me on tv.
met up with the Okayama mayor at his office from 3.00-3.15pm. he's one busy busy man. glad i had the opportunity to meet him. gave a short introductory speech and there was a translator present the whole time. *phew* the mayor has apparently been to Kuala Lumpur and met up with Dr Mahathir. =p he presented me with a lovely photo frame as a gift.
after the meeting, a television crew was awaiting me outside. *oh gosh* i didn't make any preparations at all. "what if they ask me who's the Mayor of KL?" or "how tall is twin tower". was really really nervous as everything was so spontaneous. luckily they asked me simple question like 1) why did i choose Japan? 2) How was Okayama? 3) where else do i wanna go?
my first...
3) ride in a Lexus (my dream car)
hehe yup yup lurve this car. haha apparently Lexus & Harrier are both under Toyota. =) lets see it has a GPS system... where u could use it to navigate u to ur destination, catch ur fav show while driving & u could have a "back eye" while reserving. (cud view the backview like seeing frontview) =p everything in it is sooo stylish & cool. the most imp feature is the sunroof top thing. u could view the starry night from ur car. *how romantic* => the car overall juz look so stylish but freaking exp also.
4) riding on a motorcycle
hehe its pretty common for ppl in Muar, Johor to get a motorbike license. for many years my couz had one but i've neva rode on it, i wonder why. Haha ridding on a motorbike is pretty much like roller coaster =) well less "chi kek" and no triple loops stuff. hehe its especially scary when she turns at junctions and i scream (not that loud lar) everytime she does that. haha i've been a real noisy passenger eh? =D But it has been enjoyable and the weather was juz perfect.
can't think of any more first yet... =)

25 more days in exact.
(8th February 2007) am i happy? am i sad? i've no idea...seriously. part of me can't wait to go. its been wat i've always wanted to do back in high sch. explore the new country. being independent *scary* etc. other part of me dun wanna go as i knoe i'll definitely be homesick one way or another especially during celebrations like chinese new year. it'll be one sad one for year 2007. no reunion dinner. no 'ang pao'. no chinese cookies. no cny atmosphere. gonna miss EVERYONE back home. =(

i keep on having flashback of my time in japan. everything felt like a dream in a fantasy land and now i'm back to reality. i kept on thinking i should have done few things differently. i should have bought more things, taken more pictures of host family, learn more jap, learn to cook more msian dishes etc
haha now when i'm back in msia i miss japan. =) its alwiz like that, i guess. i miss the weather in japan. i miss my host family. i miss japanese food. i miss the people. i miss snowboarding. i miss everything =p
in a few weeks time will be heading to australia. am i looking forward to it?hehe mebbe. have not settle down properly in msia yet. still got a few stuff to do for jap trip. write report. send smtg to host family. print jap pictures. upload pics on website but internet connection still rather sucky. =(
what do i like about japan?
1) their weather is cool and has 4 season in the year. so we could shop for clothes for 4 seasons. =) And you would never sweat. seriously. Okayama weather is just perfect as it does not go below 0 celcious. But apparently it became colder once i left. So prob it even snowed at Daisen.
2) all the people are close-knitted and everyone seems to know everyone in the neighborhood. They seem to have many things in common to talk & laugh about. My host brother's friend could even hang out with my host parents. i find that pretty cool. =p
3) Decorations in restaurants are pretty even for small ones in town areas. The owners really take the initiative to decorate and provide comfort for their customers. And the friendliness of the owners to strike up a conversations with customers would definitely attract them back again. We need to have more people like above to promote the "visit to Malaysia 2007"
4) Japan has this GPS system which something i could definitely make use of. haha thinking of how many times i get lost even in Malaysia. And it could juz tell me where to turn, how far more and exactly which house to go to if i juz key in the address. Even better we could watch television during long traffic jams. =)
5) Japan is a safe safe country. And when i say SAFE its really safe. You could actually leave your bag nearby a shop and trust me it won't go missing. My host brother has left his key in the car several times & its still there. =) Definitely 100x much safer than Malaysia.
