Yay!!! i was selected to go to japan. woohoo!!! even though i totally screwed my test n interview. i guess hosting a youth exchange paid off. =) if i do go which i'll prob would, it'll be dec 16-jan 6. now i would have to look for cash (to not burn such a big hole in my parents' picket) & learn up japanese language. =D any available part-time job, lemme knoe k.
oh yar my hosting experience... i hosted a 20 years old japanese girl, Minami from aug11-18. she was here earlier but stayed with another host family. She’s majoring in English in university so communication was not a prob. =)
day 1
She arrived at my house around 10 something in the morning. My first impression of her was "omg she's soooo fair, small size & beautiful skin complexion". Lol soh poh told me nvm we have foundation. =D she seems like a sweet girl. (those goody 2 shoes kind) i went to university for classes. So my parents showed her around the house and brought her out for lunch. hehe she came home with a pair of new jeans. So i thought she's definitely the shopping type. At night, brought her to stef's farewell at FOndue House at Hartamas. hehe the place atmosphere didn't really turn out as what i expected but the food was good!!! Then we head to eeva's place for few games of mahjong. hehe thought her how to play. hopefully she remembers. =)

day 2
hehe looking at the time we got home last night, our morning started only abt 10 something. we visited the Selangor Pewter. hehe this is also my first time visiting a pewter factory. =p a guide brought us around the pewter factory. apparently most of their things are hand made by humans. =O Minami bought almost the entire shop.. lol gifts for her father, grandfather, aunty, mum. Then we went for dim sum at Tai Thong near my place. it's only RM2.80++ on saturday afternoon. Less variety but its served hot and really delicious. "har kau" with biGg prawns. =p hehe she tried "chi tou" soup also. definitely not a delicacy for japanese. Next we went to 1 utama to shop. boy shopping there on a saturaday afternoon is a no no. had a hard time looking for a parking space considering how everyone else parked at illegal spot. wanted to show her forever21 shop thinking she would like it. but went in and the things were too expensive for her. she was mainly looking for accesorries for her friends. haha so have to bring her to the 'lala' shop at ou. bought quite a number of earrings, bracelet & necklace. after that, we walked n walked while looking for wallet for her mum. for dinner, mum suggested to have a home cooked sphagetti + garlic bread. hehe prob the only meal i knoe how to cook. =D
minami trying out her knocking skills =)
twin tower made from beer mugs
day 3hehe today is the trip up to malacca. i myself haven't been there for ages. since all of us woke up late, we only arrived malacca at abt 12 smtg. mum stayed at home coz she wasn't feeling well. our first stop was taman mini malaysia. thinking its good to introduce her how's msia like in other states. the entrance fee is like rm10 for adults. hehe thankfully there's half price student rate & for senior citizen. =p omg i didn't knoe traditional houses differs from diff states. we went into the first few ones made fr atap leaves n wooden floors with traditional doorway. it was basically the same for others except that the shape were diff or the sabah & srwk long house floors were made of bamboos. it drizzled a lil so we decided to stay for the cultural dance. hmm it was a good experience for her i guess as it save me the hassle to look for some cultural play to bring her. To me it was juz erm pretty lame as indian dances weren't perform by indians n the guys dancer looks freaking gay i tell you. => after that we had chicken ball rice for lunch. yum!! yuM!!! when i entered the shop, i was like why everyon'es eating fish ball? Lol =p apparently the rice shrunk size as i thought it would be wayy bigger. but it was all GOOD!!! definitely not to missed if ur in malacca. then we headed to the tourist attraction places like a famosa, stadhuys, st paul's church. hehe dun really remember the history n all =p oh trishaw in malacca is soooo commercialized. its sooooo decorated with flowers freaking everywhere! you cannot find a normal traditional trishaw anywhere. And we had to pay rm1 to take pics. wat a ripped off!!! We headed to jonker street later where its like petaling street of malacca. a whole street of stalls selling food food & more FOOD! they have like pineapple tarts, kuehs, chocolate fondues, onde onde, rice, cendols (which tasted much better than here. dad said they use the real gula malacca) and even this cutest adorable doggie for sale. we headed back home to have dinner with mummy. =) we had raisin naan, garlic butter naan & cheese naan. (minami's favourite)
Rumah perlis, i think
the lil boy is simply adorable =p
